Poor, sweet Callie ... she was found living under a shed outside and it took her a whole month to warm up to us enough just to let us pet her. She was so scared and skittish -- not to mention skinny from not eating -- that she would just come out long enough to devour some food and then go back to her hiding spot. We're not sure if she was lost or had been dumped by her previous owner, but we do know that she is front-paw declawed, so she obviously was someone's pet at one point in time -- how awful for her to be alone outside, defenseless, without her claws :( The vet also shaved her tummy and saw an abdominal scar, so the chances are good that she is already spayed as well. Now, Callie is becoming a social butterfly and loves to greet us every morning for her breakfast! She is quite the talker and meows a lot to let you know that she wants attention! She loves to lay in the sun and roll on her side and she enjoys being petted and loved on as well as rubbing against your legs. Her calico coat is beautiful with orange, black and white, and her eyes are a stunning jade green color. We don't think she would do well around other cats, as she has seen some of our other rescues and gets very scared and hisses before running off and hiding. So, a home where she could get all the love and attention all to herself would be ideal! Callie just needs time to adjust to new surroundings and learn to trust people again -- she is shy at first, but, once you gain her trust, she will be a loyal friend for sure :) Callie is already spayed and front-paw declawed and will receive vaccinations, worming medication and be combo tested for FIV and FeLV before going to her forever home.
